The Essence of Christian Life and Witness
When the apostle Paul could not visit the churches he loved, he wrote to encourage, correct, and strengthen them. Those letters still speak powerfully to God's people today.
Among Paul's most challenging and inspiring writings are his letters to the Corinthians. They reveal a church struggling with division, immorality, pride, and false teaching. Yet instead of focusing on the problems, Paul continually points believers to the only lasting solution:
"Jesus Christ and Him crucified" (1 Corinthians 2:2).
For Paul, the gospel was more than a message to believe—it was the foundation for every aspect of Christian life. Every decision, relationship, ministry, and act of witness was to be shaped by the Cross.
Corinth was a wealthy, influential city, but it was also filled with idolatry, moral compromise, and competing beliefs. Living faithfully for Christ was not easy. Paul's message, however, was clear: the transforming power of Jesus is greater than the pressures of the surrounding culture.
As we journey through 1 and 2 Corinthians this quarter, we'll discover that these ancient letters speak directly to today's church. They call us to deeper faith, stronger unity, Spirit-filled living, and unwavering commitment to the gospel.
Whether you're studying alone, with your family, or in a group, we invite you to explore these remarkable letters and rediscover the life-changing power of Jesus Christ—and Him crucified.
We meet every Saturday to study God's word and reflect on His goodness. In this setting, we fellowship and discover God's plan for our lives. His word is truth, it enlightens us, and it is the road map for our Salvation.
